John Samuel Roper
Flutist John Samuel Roper enjoys a dynamic and exciting career as a sought after performer and teaching artist in the lowcountry of South Carolina. He is the Principal Flutist of the Long Bay Symphony, plays frequently with ensembles throughout the Southeast, and maintains a thriving private studio in the greater Charleston area.
Jennifer Mitchell
Jennifer Mitchell, Assistant Director of Music Admissions helps to inform, recruit and prepare prospective undergraduate and graduate students for the University of South Carolina School of Music. She earned a Bachelor of Music from Columbia College in 2007 and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of South Carolina School of Music in 2017. Jennifer is an active soloist, teaches with the Carolina Music Studios at UofSC, is a choral scholar at Shandon Presbyterian Church, and is co-chair for the Arts at Shandon. She is a founding board member, financial manager and soloist for Columbia Operatic Laboratory.
Dr. Emily Stumpf
Dr. Emily Stumpf is committed to working with people and making her community a better place as an artist citizen by sharing her joy and passion for the flute and music making. She is currently Adjunct Instructor of Flute at USC Aiken and the director of KinderFlute Columbia.
Lauren Remmers
Lauren Remmers is a full-time professional flutist and piccoloist who teaches and performs throughout North and South Carolina. She received degrees in Flute Performance from Boston University and the University of South Carolina. Ms. Remmers has been teaching professionally for 15 years, has worked with several high-school band programs in the Charlotte and York County areas, and maintains a large private studio of flutists of all ages.
Dr. David Cutler
Dr. David Cutler, a self-proclaimed WEEKEND TRAVELER, is a pianist and composer equally comfortable with classical, jazz, popular, folk, and world music.
One of the world’s leading voices on ENTREPRENEURSHIP, Cutler has led keynotes and workshops for Music Teachers National Association, Dutch Classical Music Meeting, Chamber Music America, New World Symphony Orchestra, Indiana University, and Italy’s soundSCAPE music festival. Dr. Cutler is a distinguished professor of music entrepreneurship at University of South Carolina, and a Yamaha Master Educator.
Dr. Korinne Smith
Dr. Korinne Smith is a flutist, teacher, and an upcoming female leader in the music industry. She currently serves on the NFA Pedagogy Committee and is a leading expert in the field of Senior Adult Music Making. Her full-time commitment is serving as the Northeast Regional Sales Manager for Eastman Music Company as well as the Interim Sales Manager for the Wm. S. Haynes Flute Company.
